A relationship exist between all environment and these environmental factors influence (affect) how well organisms grow.
Bad influences
Here is an example of a bad influence: A bad influence to the earth is pollution that goes into the earths atmosphere.

Some good influences are trees, they help us breath,make oxogen, and help to get rid of some of the pollution in the air.

A preferred environment is an living organism that chooses or moves to it's liked or preferred environment.

An optimum environment is where a plant or living thing thrives or grows the best in that environment.

A variable is something that can be changed. In an experiment, all factors of variables must be the same except for the one factor under the investigation.
A Controlled Experiment
A set of compared investigations in which one variable is manipulated by steps while all other variable are controlled or kept the same. Only on the environmental factor (the one being tested) should be changed in a controlled experiment.
