- Intentional- Contradicting yourself on purpose to make a point. Often sarcastic. - Situational- Not done deliberately. A situational contradiction. - Dramatic- The audience is aware of the contradiction but the characters in theplay/film are not. |

- Man vs. Man - Antagonist (enemy) attempts to stop Protagonist (main character) from completing his/her goals. - Man vs. Nature - The Protagonist must overcome the force of nature (weather/climate or an animal) to achieve his/her goal - Man vs. Self - The Protagonist must overcome her own nature to reach his/her goal -Man vs. Society - The Protagonist must convince the society that his idea is correct/suitable when everyone is against him/her |
