Achilles

Greek warrior. Could only be killed by attacking his week spot (heel).

Extraordinarily handsome Greek boy.

Agamemnon

Greek king who led his men in the Trojan War. Led tragic life and was finally murdered by his wife.

Female warriors in Greek mythology, who were extra strong, large, or assertive woman as an amazon.

Androcles

Slave from Androcles and the lion legend. Androcles took a thorn out of a lions foot and later, when he was "thrown to the lions" as a punishment, he faced the very same lion who, of course, helped him.

Antigone

Daughter of Oedipus. Disobeyed the king's orders (not to hurry her brother because he was considered a traitor) and was put to death.

Arachne

Had weaving contest with Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, and belittled the gods. Athena turned her into a spider so she'd have to weave the rest of her life.

Jasons comrades in his search for the Golden Fleece.

A creature with 100 eyes who was supposed to watch over Io. He finally closed all his eyes when music was played to put him to sleep and his eyes were put in the tail of the peacock.

Germanic mythological servant (women) who fell in love with Siegfried, but had him killed when she found out he deceived her.

Cassandra

Prophet in Troy during the Trojan War whom nobody believed believed. Now we refer to a Cassandra as anybody who predicts bad news.

Cerberus

A dog with three heads who stood at the gates of the underworld and let dead souls in, but not out.

Charon

Boatman who took the souls of the dead across the river Styx into the underworld.

Chimera

A monster who had a lion head, goat body, and dragon tail.

Sorceress who turned men into swine if they looked at her.

Agamemnon's daughter who helped kill her mother and her lover. Now we refer to the Electra complex as unconscious sexual feelings a daughter may feel for her father.
