What is meant by the term 'redemption'?

The action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil.

What is 'purgatory'?

An intermediate state after physical death in which some of those ultimately destined for heaven must first "undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven".

What is the 'soul'?

The spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal.

​ Roman Catholic belief that after death many souls go to purgatory where they are prepared to go to ​heaven. ​

​ the sight of God.

​ the body will come back to life after death. ​
Penance
​ an act to show regret for having sinned. ​
Saviour
​ someone who rescues someone else.

​ a special mass said at a funeral.
