*Contrapuntal texture - title of piece is Electric COUNTERPOINT - this is because of the counterpoint created between the parts as they are heard overlapping and interweaving with each other.
What can you say about the RHYTHM, METRE (TIME SIGNATURE) and TEMPO?
Time Signature = 3/2 (Three minim beats per bar). In section B the time signature changes between 3/2 and 12/8 frequently.
POLYMETRE - where instruments are simultaneously in different time signatures.
Tempo=192 crotchet beats per minim - very fast.
SYNCOPATED RHYTHMS
METRICAL DISPLACEMENT - Guitars 1-4 play the same motif but at different times. They sound out of sync.
Little rhythmical variety - mostly repeating patterns of quavers.
What can you say about the HARMONY/TONALITY of the third movement of "Electric Counterpoint"?
