Certification

- Acknowledges that the individual has met the qualifications to be an entry-level practitioner


- Required for both OTs & OTAs


- National Board For Certification In Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) administers the national certification exam for both practitioners; Takes 4 hrs and is multiple choice


- Once a student has graduate from an accredited program, they can sit for the certification exam

Registration

- OTs who have completed approved professional training and 1 year of subsequent work experience


- Listing of qualified individuals by a professional association or government agencies
