Physiological Needs
Needs related to physical survival
Safety Needs
The need to feel safe and secure in ones environment.
Love and Belonging Needs
The need to have affectionate relationships with others and to be accepted as a part of a group.
Esteem Needs
The need to feel good about oneself and also to believe that others also perceive oneself favorable.
Self-Actualization
The need to reach one’s full potential to become all that one is capable of becoming.

Locus, Stability, and Controllability
Locus
(Internal vs External) Causes of events is internal- factors within themselves, or external- factors outside themselves.
Stability
(Stable vs. Unstable) Stable factors- things that probably won’t change much in the near future. Unstable factors- things that can change from one time to the next.
Controllability
(Controllable vs. Uncontrollable) Controllable- things that they can influence and change. Uncontrollable- things over which they have no influence.
