Designated to approve, monitor, and review biomedical and behavorial research involving human while protecting the rights and welfare of the research subjects.

5 members. Both men & women. Different professions. Least one scientist and one non-scientist. Least one community member.
What are the guidelines for the IRB members?
Members can't vote on their own studies. Members should have sufficient experience, expertise and diversity to make smart decisions. Only IRB members can vote & may confer w/ consultants.
