Troposphere
The 1st layer closes to earth.
Weather happens here. We live in the troposphere.
Temperatures are cooler the higher you go.
Statosphere
The 2nd layer that contains ozone and is above the troposphere. Cooler on the bottom, warmer on top.
Mesosphere
The 3rd and coldest layer of the atmosphere. warmest at the bottom, coldest on top.
Ozone
Protects living things from the suns harmful rays.
Thermosphere
the hot outermost layer of air. Temperatures increase with height
How does air pressure change with height
Air pressure is dense (heavier) at the earth's surface. The higher you go the further apart (lighter) the particles are
