JURISDICTION / RESPONSIBILITIES 4-3/040.00A terrorist attack utilizing weapons of mass destruction will directly impact both the Los Angeles County Sheriff and Fire Departments. The Incident Command System (ICS)

shall be implemented during weapons of mass destruction incidents involving both Departments. A joint or unified command will be formed and command officers from both Departments will be named.

The Aero Bureau shall be notified of incidents involving the release of chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons when the contamination may have become airborne.

The Aero Bureau is then responsible for notifying the FAA whenever air operations could be affected by these hazardous materials.

public order/crowd control, securing the area from secondary attack, searching for secondary devices, containment of the scene and suspect identification and arrest.
