TODAY I WILL BE PRESENTING YOU A DUCOT OF THE PRO 367 BRANCH...
My Ducot Will Outline The Description Operation, Construction, Operation And Testing Of The Branch As Well As Some Safety Features...
DESCRIPTION

THE PROTEK 367 BRANCH IS DESCIBED IN THE QFRS AS...
A Portable Hand Held Piece Of FF Equipment...

Consisting Of Female Coupling, Strainer, On/Off Handle, Pistol Handle, Rotating Flow Control and Non Removable Nozzle...
THE PROTEK 367 BRANCH IS USED IN THE QFRS...
To control the projection, flow direction and formation of a firefighting stream in conjunction with a charged hose line...
THE PROTEK 367 IS CONSTRUCTED IN 5 PARTS...

FIRSTLY THE BODY...
Has Female Coupling With Internal QLD Rd Thread This May Be Fixed Or Rotating...

An Internal Neoprene Washer and Strainer...

Has Swivel Ability To Turn Branch To Correct Position Without Having To turn The Hose...
SECONDLY THE HANDLE...
Has a Pistol Grip Handle
THIRDLY THE ON OFF HANDLE...
Controls The Water Stream When Operator Is "READY"...

The Handle Operates A Nylon Control Ball Valve Inside The Branch

This Allows Or Stops The Flow Of Water...
FOURTHLY THE FLOW CONTROL...
Has A Rotating Collar...

Has Four Flow Positions...
360 - 475 - 550 - 750 - LPM And A Flush Setting...

Has Positive Action Click Stops Which Maintains The Selected Water Flow...
LASTLY THE NOZZLE...
Has A Deflection Mushroom Stem Inside the Barrel Which Creates A Hollow Core Jet...

The Flow Is Deflected By The Internal Stem And Deflected Again By The Exterior Barrel...

This Impinges On The Spinning Diffuser Teeth Creating A Stream Or Wide Pattern Spray...

By Rotating The Nozzle Creates The Desired Water Pattern...
TO BRING THE PROTEK 366 BRANCH INTO OPERATION REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING SKILLS...
Shut-off branch
• The ON/OFF handle is operated by pulling back to open and pushing forward to close the flow of water.
Flush Branch
• The flush mode is operated by turning the rotating flow control anti-clockwise to “Flush” this allows any small particles of debris (up to 8mm) to pass through the nozzle.
Adjust water flow
• The L/min output is adjusted by turning the rotating collar anti-clockwise to increase the flow and clockwise to decrease the flow.

SAFETY PRACTICES FOR BRANCH OPERATOR:
Brace For The Delivery Of Water - As This may Create a Jet Reaction Causing Recoil And Possible Injury Or Loss Of Control Of The Branch...
THE PROTEK 366 TESTING INVOLVES BOTH VISUAL AND OPERATIONAL TESTS...
VISUAL & OPERATIONAL TESTING

BOTH VISUAL & OPERATIONAL Tests Are Conducted When Being Taken Into service & Monthly...

VISUAL is also After Use at An Incident...

IT INVOLVES Ensuring that the couplings and washers are in good condition

Moving Parts can move Freely...

Any Strainers Are Clean From Grit...

OPERATIONAL:
Requires Connect Branch To A water Supply an operate at normal pressures...

Ensure Fittings Do Not Leake
Moving Parts Move Freely Under Pressure
Mechanisms Function Properly..
IN ADDITION...
Rotating Collars May Need Internal Cleaning To Remove Grit & Ensure Free Movement...

Shutting Off The Branch Should Be Done Gradually...
