Explain MOA of adenosine 1 receptor antagonism and where in the kidney it happens
Proximal convoluted tubule.
When endogenous adenosine activates adenosine 1 receptors, cAMP is reduced; this allow for the reabsorption of Na and HCO3.
If we block the receptor with an antagonist, we get an increase in cAMP, which reduces the symport reabsorption of Na and HCO3.
