Sexual harassment refers to behavior that is
personallyoffensive, fails to respect the rights of others, lowers morale and, therefore, interfereswith work effectiveness. Sexual harassment may be overt or subtle

Reports may circumvent the normal chain of command if the personinitiating the report fears retribution or indifference at any level of
command; thisincludes reporting directly to the
Human Resources Affirmative Action Officer or cityManager’s Office.
All supervisors and acting supervisors are
obligated to immediately terminate acts of
discrimination or harassment and to officially
notify the Fire Chief via chain ofcommand of the
facts of the incident,
any remedial action taken andrecommendations for discipline or resolution.
Failure to report is a
neglect of duty
The Fire Chief will advise the Human Resources Affirmative Action Officer of anyincidents under investigation and submit a report of findings and either report aresolution reached within the department or recommendation for further investigationor intervention from the
Affirmative Action Officer.
All incidents not resolved within BLANK automatically fall under jurisdiction of theHuman Resources Affirmative Action Officer.
