What is a layer?
Contains a color or an image that shows through the transparent areas of subsequent layers. Each individual image in a layer can be edited, repositioned and deleted without affecting the other sheets. All layers in an image are transparent until you add art.
What does the eye icon indicated in a layers panel?
Indicated the layer that is visible in the image window.
How do you add content to an image and create a new layer for it at the same time?
Drag an object or layer from one file into the image window of another file.
How do you rename a layer?
Double click the name and the type in the new one.
What is 'stacking order' as it relates to layers?
Stacking order determines how the image is viewed - you can change the order to make certain parts of the image appear in from or behind other layers.

Select layer you want to duplicate and do a ctrl (win) or command (mac) J or select the drop down menu and choose duplicate layer
What are blending modes?
They affect how the color pixels in the image on one layer blend with pixels in the layers underneath.
