What is a solute?
A solute is the substance there is less of in a solution.
What is a solvent?
A solvent is the substance there is more of in a solution.
What is active Transport?
Active transport is where a substance is moved through lower to higher concentration w/ ATP moving through the channels.
What is passive transport?
Passive transport is where the motion of particles from higher concentration to lower concentration without the use of ATP.
What is concentration?
Concentration is the ratio of solute to solvent.
What is Diffusion?
The motion of a substance from a higher concentration to a lower concentration.
What is Osmosis?
The motion of a substance from a higher concentration to a lower concentration using a semi-permeable membrane.
What is a semi-permeable membrane?
a cell that allows diffusion and osmosis.
What is a homogeneous mixture?
One that looks the same throughout.
What is a heterogeneous mixture?
One that is seen throughout.
