Diffusion in a leaf

Materials include: Oxygen, glucose & carbon dioxide.

Outside the leaf is a high concentration of CO2 so it diffuses into the leaf.

The concentration of O2 is high in the cell so it diffuses out of the cell.

Carbon Dioxide + water = glucose + oxygen

Diffusion in the small intestine

Inside wall is thin allowing food molecules to pass through into the bloodstream.

Food is then carried to where it is needed.

Large insoluble substances cannot pass through.

Diffusion in a cell

Lower concentration of glucose + oxygen inside the cell then outside.

Diffuse into cell.

CO2 concentration in cell increases to a level higher than the surrounding blood.

Diffuses outside of the cell.
