Are prepared under joint procedures during crisis action planning. Commanders issues then in the form of a directive to the service headquarters to execute an operation.

Operations Order
(OPORD)

This is a well defined, written description of how combatant commanders will deal with a perceived threat in their areas of responsibility.

Operational Plan
(OPLAN)

Is usually specific to a geographical area and identifies specific forces, functional support, and resources necessary to conduct joint operations of any type, from a single battle or noncombatant operation to a campaign that spans multiple operations and phases.

OPLAN

Its purpose to develop sound concepts to potential situations but requires extensive development to convert into an OPLAN and OPORD.

Concept Plan
(CONPLAN)

Involve military operations in a peacetime environment, such as humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, peacekeeping, or counter-drug operations.

Functional Plan


(FUNCPLAN)

Shortened OPLAN with fully developed missions and situation details but only a summary of the requirements.

Wartime and Aircraft Activity


(Volume 4: WMP-4)

documents the aircraft activity for each geographical location in support of all regional OPLANS and certain CONPLANS. Volume 4 provides the basis for planning and pre-positioning of WRM.

Basic Planning Factors and Data


(Volume 5: WMP-5)

helps planners establish worldwide support for set force and is used to develop the WMP-4.

Supports the JSCP and the USAF WMP. A process and collection of automated computer systems to develop OPLANS and time-phased force and deployment data (TPFDD).

JOPES


(Joint Operation Planning and Execution System)

Outlines where those personnel and equipment will come from, where and when they will go, how they get there, and other detailed information such as cargo dimensions and number of people. Prevents overusing one single mode of transportation and provides a schedules.

TPFDD

Is the Air Force automated war planning system designed for AF unit procedures and formats. Once an installation receives a deployment tasking, the planners implement the installations deployment process in the accordance (IAW) the installation plan (IDP).

DCAPES

Schedules, controls, and monitors passengers and cargo movement via air or surface transportation using the tasking information it receives. Interface with other transpiration systems, such as GATES.
