What is direct democracy

Direct democracy (also known as pure democracy)[1] is a form of democracy in which people decide (e.g. vote on, form consensus on) policy initiatives directly. This differs from the majority of modern democracies, which are representative democracies.

Why wasn't aristotle in favor of democracy

He viewed ruled by the many as to be the majority working towards their own favor. And a class conflict where the poor stripe away the rights of the wealthy. He believed polity could only work if govt abided by the laws and governed for the good of all. Dneocracy + Oligarchy, aka large niddle class would reflect both sides of class equality
