three c's to guide communication

Clear: Include the 5 Ws and how: who, what, where, when, why, and how.

Concise: Don't give too much detail that may confuse or demonstrate a condescending attitude.

Complete: Be sure to give all the necessary information

right supervision incudes

•Initial Direction

•Periodic Inspection

•Evaluation with Feedback

Periodic inspection refers to
appropriate monitoring while the person is performing the delegated task.
The definition of "appropriate monitoring"
depends on the type of environment in which the care is being provided, the tasks assigned, and the prior work performance of the delegate
For poor performance, try the following:

1.Ask the delegate's input. For example, ask, "How did your day go? I noticed the vital signs were not recorded on the chart."

2.Be specific. Share your perception of the situation.

3.Ask the delegate for a plan for resolving the problem.

4.Agree on a plan of action including a time frame for checking progress.

"respondent superior."
This means that since a supervisor (the delegator) controls what the delegate does, he or she is legally responsible for the delegate's errors.
