Secreted by everything under the sun to induce inflammation, fever, acute phase response.
Interleukin-2
Secreted by active T-cells to stimulate differentiation of T & B Cells, activates NK cells
Interleukin-3
Secreted by T cells and granulocytes. Induces colony formation of non-lymphatic immune cells.
Interleukin-4
Secreted by TH2 cells to induce TH2 differentiation. Promotes proliferation of B-cells, class switching to IgE and allergen response.
Interleukin-5
Secreted by T-cells. Induces Eosinophil proliferation, B-cell proliferation.
Interleukin-6
Secreted by some B and T cells, induces hematopoeisis, Inflammation.
Interleukin-7
Secreted in bone marrow and thymus by stromal cells. Growth factor for Lymphocyte progenitors.
Interleukin-8
Chemoattractant for Neutrophils and company.
Interleukin-9
Secreted by some helper T-cells. Stimulates proliferation of T-lymphocytes.
Interleukin-10
Secreted by T-cells, Macrophages, Dendritic Cells. Anti-inflammatory, stimulates IgA synthesis.
Interleukin-12
Secreted by Macrophages, B-cells, Dendritic cells. Important in differentiation to TH1 cells. Increases cytotoxic response.
Interleukin-14
Secreted by active T-cells. Enhances B-Cell proliferation but decreases antibody synthesis.
Interleukin-16
Secreted by dendritic cells. Chemoattractant for CD4+ cells. (NOTE: inhibits HIV binding.)
Interleukin-17
Secreted by TH17 cells among others. Induces the inflammatory response.
