Mainly used to generally warm interior & yang, dispel cold. tx: cold bi & edema due to cold obstructing yang.
Extremely weak yang qi & cold yin excess, shock & collapse, cold due to sp & ki yang xu, Spontaneous sweat & chills due to yang xu.
Fu Zi
Esp good to warm mid jiao, relieve st pain, nausea, vomit & chronic diarrhea due to cold. Cold in the mid jiao esp due to yang xu, Devastated or xu yang w/very weak pulse & cold limbs, as in shock. Cold lungs w/ cold phlegm stasis, cold damp stasis w/vomit. Epigastric distension & pain due to cold induced damp stasis.
Gan Jiang
Esp good for warming the Sp/Kid, Dispelling cold & stopping pain. Tx: Kid yang xu, Asthma due to inability of Ki to grasp Lu qi, Cold xu Sp/St. Dysmenorrhea or amenorrhea due to bl stasis from cold in chong & ren ch. Ki yang xu or weak ming men fire w/ xu yang floating up. Chronic qi & bl xu w/ cold, yin boils, Collapse of Yang.
Rou Gui
Esp good for mid & lower jiao cold, cold Liv ch, Rebellious St qi. Cold stasis in mid jiao or Liv & St Ch, Shao yin & Jue yin stage cold, Liv /St disharmony producing heat, cold xu Sp & Ki w/ cockcrow diarrhea, pinworms, Bi Syndrome from cold & bl stasis. Leg edema, oral ulcerations.
Wu Zhu Yu
Good for mid jiao cold & parasites
Cold xu Sp/St, Cold damp diarrhea, roundworms, toothache due to cold, eczema, hernia, scabies.
Hua Jiao
Esp good for qi stasis in the mid jiao due to cold & rebellious qi w/ nausea & vomit. Cold xu Sp/St, Ki yang xu,
Ding Xiang
Good for cold & qi stasis in the mid & lower jiao. Poor digestion due to cold, promotes appetite, move qi, stop pain.
Hui Xiang
Very similar to dried ginger but it is more pungent, usually used in more acute stages of qi & cold stasis. Cold & qi stasis in the mid jiao, moves qi in the mid jiao.
