Define Interrogate


Interrogate= formally question a suspect in relation to an alleged crime


What is Inadmissible evidence and what makes it so?


Inadmissible evidence = evidence that cannot be considered by a judge or jury in court.


This can be the case if evidence has been contaminated or compromised

Define Summons


Summons = a legal document that states when and where a person must appear in court and, if they are the accused, the charge to which they must answer


Define Warrant


Warrant= legal document issued by magistrate authorising an officer to perform a particular act e.g conduct a search

Distinguish between Bail and Remand

Bail= temporary release of an accused person awaiting trial


Remand = period spent in custody awaiting trial
