Pandora Jewelry started nearly 30 years ago. Back in 1982, in a jeweller’s shop that would one day become PANDORA was established in Copenhagen, Denmark, by Danish goldsmith Per Enevoldsen and his wife Winnie. In 1987, after several successful years as wholesalers, the retail activities were closed and the company moved to larger premises. In 2000, PANDORA’s

charm bracelet concept was first launched in the Danish market. Consumers seem to love the concept, and in the following years, driven by a growing and encouraging demand, the company began to expand internationally, entering new markets such as the United States in 2003 and Germany and Australia in 2004. In order to increase its production capacity, PANDORA

opened four large scale, six-story fully-owned manufacturing facilities in Thailand within five years. Today, PANDORA operates and manages a vertically integrated business model from in-house design and manufacturing to global marketing and direct distribution in most markets. The products are sold in more than 70 countries on six continents through over 10,300

points of sale, including around 900 concept stores. Pandora Jewelry is successful, fast growing, and unique jewellery company which offers consumers the chance to design their own distinctive fashion pieces. Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, Pandora Jewelry has quickly spread across the globe to become one of the most well-known and popular

contemporary jewellery designs. Inspired by Greek mythology Pandora uses hope and inspiration as the root for their characteristic style. As you can see in the image above, that is their iconic charm bracelet. You get the choice of purchasing whichever base bracelet you want, and then buying unique charms to go on it. PANDORA’s mission is to offer women across

the world a universe of high quality, hand-finished, modern and genuine jewellery products at affordable prices, thereby inspiring women to express their individuality.(Point to image) They sell a range of different jewelry from rings to necklaces to their charm bracelets. All women have their individual stories to tell – a personal collection of special moments that

makes them who they are. That is why we celebrate these moments. That is why Pandora’s slogan is unforgettable moments. Pandora is are highly proactive in terms of minimizing their environmental impact on the planet. While this commitment applies to their entire value chain we pay special attention to reducing, reusing and recycling resources at our manufacturing

facilities in Thailand, which is where they have the largest impact. At the facilities in Thailand they work hard to reduce our consumption of resources such as energy and water and we strive to recycle process materials (such as rubber, wax and glass). Further, they reuse precious metals and gemstones from discontinued jewellery designs to lessen the

negative impacts on the environment. Pandora is committed to getting involved with sponsoring organizations and charities. Two of the main ones have been Greece Race for the Cure and the Earthquake relief fund. Pandora Greece was proud to be Gold sponsor of the “Race for the Cure 2015” event, that took place in the center of Athens on Sunday 27th of September. The event

provided important information about the prevention of the disease and supported women who have fought and still fight breast cancer. As well, PANDORA joined forces with Inflight Sales Group to support the people affected by earthquakes in Nepal in 2015. During the month of May, PANDORA and other global brands pledged to donate US $ 1 for every duty free

item purchased onboard the Asian concession airline in cooperation with Inflight Sales Group to help the victims of the earthquake tragedy recover. All proceeds from this effort went to World Vision’s Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund in Hong Kong. In addition to these two organizations, pandora sponsors the women of the year, the run with sephora, hello magazine

award, and they have donated to the syrian refugee crisis, the BBC children in need, the american heart association and many more.In conclusion, I believe Pandora Jewelry should be the corporation of the year because they support and sponsor global organizations and charities to better the lives of others, and they have a small environmental footprint.

So next time you see the Pandora store at the mall, go in a treat yourself to some high quality jewelry, take a look at the box it comes in, and remember the story of Pandora’s box. Thank you.
