What is biological weatehrinf
Burrowing animals and plants roots place more pressure on cracks in rocks cause them to enlarge and break away
What is mechanical weathering?
Freeze-thaw, as water fills the cracks, it freezes when temperatures are below 0 and enlarges the cracks, the water then melts and freezes again continuing to enlarge the cracks until the rock breaks away
What is chemical weathering?
Weak carbonic acid in rain water changes the mineral composition of the rocks causing them to disintegrate and break away
