Antrum
The distal portion of the stomach. Functions to breakdown ingests and acids in hydrochloric regulation through the release of the hormone gastrin.
Pylorus
A muscular sphincter. Allows digested material to enter the small intestine at the duodenum while preventing any retrograde movement of these contents back into the stomach
The end portion of the stomach
Reticulum
The lining of the reticulum increases its surface area allowing for more absorption to take place.
