VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN
"No word, no expression could body forth the kind of relation in which she stood to me-- my more than sister, since till death she was to be mine only"
This creates tension in the text, as if Frankenstein has a special hold over Elizabeth. As if she was an object waiting to be claimed.
THE MONSTER
"My person was hideous and my stature gigantic... These questions continually recurred."
This quote shows that the monster without a teacher is very doubtful of their backgrounds. The monster doubts himself because he feels alienated in society. This makes him feel isolated and insure in society that constantly judges appearances.
"was not even the same nature as man"
The monster is saying this out of self-conciousness because he feels like an outcast of society.
