If your train develops a fault, where would be deemed a suitable location to stop to deal with the fault.
Stop at a station, a signa, clear off junction points to allow the signaller to run other trains past you whilst you attempt to rectify the fault.

Avoid tunnels, viaducts, deep cuttings, over points or within level crossing controls

The objective is to get the train moving again or declare it a failure and request assistance ASAP to reduce delays to other trains

Stop in a safe and convenient location
Inform signaller with defect within 2 minutes
Inform customers of delay via PA
Carry out basic cab checks. Check DRA,traction interlock, line light, VCB light, main air pressure, cab mcb’s, DMI, Mitrac, orange bils, try pan up reset if possible.
