Supervision Elements
evaluative, heirarchical, extends over time, has the simultaneous purposes of engancing the professional functioning of the more junior persons, monitors quality of professional services, serves as gatekeeper for those who are entering counseling profession
A supervisor is describing a supervision contract to a supervisee. According to the AMHCA standards, the contract is to include the following:
1. Frequency, location, length and duration of supervision meetings
2. Supervision models and expectations
3. Liability and fiduciary responsibility of the supervisor
4. Evaluation process, instruments used and frequency of evaluation
5. Emergency and critical incident procedures
Group Supervision:
4-8 supervisees coming together to present and receive assistance with cases
Advantages: economics of time, cost and expertise, vicarious learning, breath of cl exposure, feedback with greater quality and diversity, greater quality etc.
