2016 was a major political year including the vote:
To leave the EU
Donald Trumps lead to the presidency
Priestly being a socialist I think that would have disagreed with the major political issues that were made
Brexit was the separation of the UK and the EU
Central feature:
fears of mass immigration
I think Priest would have disagreed with this because:
fear of immigration -------> less diversity
-------->sterotyping and discrimination
Additionally, the EU-funded:
Modernisation of old Industrial cities such as
Liverpool, Leed and Birmingham
Priestly disagree with cheap labour and industrialisation and would have seen the benefits the EU's funding.
Priestly, on the other hand, may of sympathises with the leave vote:
against the capitalist system, a political party priestly disagreed with.
Although 333,000 people voted leave solely because of immigration fears.
In addition, Brexit goes against the morals of "An Inspector Calls" "we are members of one body... and we are responsible for each other"
I also believe Priestly would strongly disagree with Donald Trump as well
Donald Trump is a strong pro-Capitalist:he believes in the use of nuclear weapons
Whereas Priestly set up the nuclear disarmament organisation and the common wealth party.
