Define covalent bonding and what happens when a covalent bond is made
Covalent bonding is when two or more elements share their electrons to create full outer energy shells, it only occurs between non-metals. When bonded the elements are strongly attached and creates a new substance completely.
Sharing is caring.
Define ionic bonding and what happens when an ionic bond is created
An ionic bond is the bond created between a metal and a non-metal, they either lose or gain electrons and become ions. If they lose electrons they become positive ions and if they gain electrons then they are a negative ion.
Give or take a few.
