WHO IS THE NURSE?
The Nurse is Juliet's closest friend and confidante until the point at which Juliet is to be forced into marriage with Paris.
WHAT DOES THE NURSE DO IN THE PLAY?
Nurse
'Go girl. Seek happy nights to happy days.'

The Nurse is no prude: she knows that Juliet will enjoy the physical side of marriage.
To Romeo she is a 'good Nurse' and'my dear Nurse'.
Romeo(II.4)
Romeo likes the Nurse and is grateful for her part in organising their marriage.
'Ancient damnation! O most wicked fiend!'
Juliet (III.5.235)
Juliet is utterly disgusted by the Nurse when her advice is to forget Romeo and marry Paris.

Juliet ends her friendship with the Nurse and is alone now in Verona.
