A round or ovoid structure with cartilaginous wall. This is usually covered by some muscles which should be removed.
Larynx or voice box
A slit opening of the larynx.
Glottis
A pair of delicate white bands. Each is located at the side of the glottis. The sound is produced by the vibration of these vocal cords.
Vocal cords
A pair of big thin-walled sacs that are located in the body of the toad or frog at the anterior portion of the pleura-peritoneal cavity.
Lungs
The thin outermost covering of the lungs. This is lined on the outer surface by simple squamous epilethium.
Visceral pleura
Small thin walled chambers which fill up the anterior part of the lungs. These are richly supplied with blood capillaries.
Alveoli
A pair of shrot tubes from the larynx. Each goes to the lungs. They are for passage of air from the larynx to the lungs and vice versa.
