-no researcher misinterpretation so high in reliability
-numerical data which can be easily statistically compared
Disadvantages of quantitative data(2)
- doesn't allow indepth detail/insights on WHY people behave in that way.. lowers validity
-oversimplifies reality and human behaviour into numbers..lowers validity
advantages of qualitative data (2)
-rich detailed insights on behaviour/pps so increases validity
-access the complexity of human behaviour (doesn't over simplify it)..high in validity
disadvantages of qualitative data
-open to researcher misinterpretation..less valid
-hard to statistically analyse..lowers relibabilty
