1st Stanza
Waken lords and ladies gay
On the mountains dawns the day
All the jolly chase is here
With hawk and horse and hunting spear
Hounds are in there couples yelling
Hawks are whistling, horns and kneeling
Merrily merrily mingle theywaken lords and ladies gay
Pharphrase the 1st stanza
The poet asked the lords and ladies to wake up because a new day has started and the hunting is beginning
The hawks, the horses, the hunting dogs and the weapons are all ready. Thier sounds are mixed together making a lovley song happily.. so wake up lords and ladies
