mercury
the smallest rock planet, the closest planet to the sun, made of metal and some rock.
Venus
the second closest planet to the sun, about the same size as earth and rotates on it's axis on the opposite side of earth. it has no moons :(
earth (aka THE PLANET WE LIVE ON)
the third planet from the sun, it's the largest rock (inner) planet, it is our home planet, it is the only planet that sustains life and has liquid water. Earth has 1 moon
mars
the 4th planet from the sun, known as the "red planet" has 2 moons, is the closest planet to earth and has the largest mountain (17 miles high)
jupiter
the 5th planet from the sun- it is the largest (with a mass of over 2 times of all of the other planets combined), planet, it is a gas planet, it is haunted by everlasting storms, it is the first of the outer planets and it spins the fastest
saturn
the 6th planet from the sun, second largest planet- has rings made of rocks, dust, ice and gas. it's biggest moon is Titan. Has a very low density
Uranus
7th planet from the sun. It is not visible from earth. it's the only planet laying on it's side, discovered in 1781
neptune
8th planet from the sun and the densest
