Insertion: clavicle
Action: depresses clavicle
Serratus anterior
Origin: Superior eight or nine ribs
Insertion: vertebral border and inferior angle of scapula
Action: rotates scapula superiorly and laterally, abducts scapula, elevates ribs when scapula is fixed
Trapezius
Origin: occipital Bone, ligamentum nuchae and Spine of seventh cervical and all thoracic vertebra
Insertion: clavicle and acromion and spine of scapula
Action: elevates clavicle, abducts scapul, rotates scapula, superiorly elevates or depresses scapula and extends head
Pectoralis minor
Origin: Central Services of ribs 3 through 5
Insertion: coracoid process of scapula
Action: depresses and protracts shoulder, rotates scapula so the glenoid cavity moves inferiorly, elevates ribs if scapula is stationary
