the use of metaphor shows lady Macbeth manipulating Macbeth telling him to act innocent on the surface but betray king Duncan and kill him.
"serpent" religious imagery.
Macbeth
"Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle I hold towards my hand."
the quote means that macbeth has now only reslised what he has truely done. now realised that he is guilty and is having a breakdown.
