Literary Analysis
Analysis is the practice of looking closely at small parts to see how they affect the whole. Literary analysis focuses on how plot/structure, character, setting, and many other techniques are used by the author to create meaning.
Synthesis Writing
a written discussion that draws on one or more sources. It follows that your ability to write syntheses depends on your ability to infer relationships among sources.
Rhetorical Analysis
An essay that breaks a work of non-fiction into parts and then explains how the parts work together to create a certain effect—whether to persuade, entertain or inform.
