나는 noun+이/가 필요해요.
(na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo hae–yo.)
나는 noun+이/가 필요합니다.
(na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo ham–ni–da.)
(NOTE: Use noun+이 for nouns ending with a consonant and noun+가 for nouns ending with a vowel.)
Examples:
I need a pencil.
I need a hammer.
나는 연필이 필요해요.
나는 망치가 필요합니다.
(Notice that 연필 ends in a consonant and takes the particle 이. 망치 ends in a vowel, so it takes the particle 가. Also, either form [hae-yo or ham-ni-da] may be used, but ham-ni-da is the more polite form.)
I needed (a noun).
나는 noun+이/가 필요했어요.
(na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo hae–so–yo.)
나는 noun+이/가 필요했습니다.
(na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo haet–sum–ni–da.)
I will need (a noun).
나는 noun+이/가 필요 하겠어요.(na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo ha–ge–so–yo.)
나는 noun+이/가 필요 하겠습니다.
(Na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo ha–get–sum–ni–da.)
I don't need (a noun).
나는 noun+이/가 필요하지 않습니다.
(na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo–ha–ji an–sum–ni–da.)
I didn't need (a noun).
나는 noun+이/가 필요하지 않았습니다.
(na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo–ha–ji an–at–sum–ni–da.)
I won't need (a noun).
나는 noun+이/가 필요하지 겠습니다.
(na–nun noun–i/ga pil–yo–ha–ji get–sum–ni–da.)
