Symptoms of bursitis
The main symptoms of trochanteric bursitis is pain at the point of the hip. The pain usually extends to the outside of the thigh area. In the early stages, the pain is usually described as sharp and intense but later it may become more of an ache and spread across a larger area of the hip.
Risk factors of bursitis
Repetitive stress (overuse) injury, hip injury, spine disease, leg-length inequality, rheumatoid arthritis, previous surgery, bone spurs or calcium deposits
Treatment of bursitis
Avoids activities that worsen symptoms, use NSAIDs, use of assistive devices such as a walking came or crutches for a week or more when needed, PT, steroid injection
