How are levèes formed?
Levèes are formed after many floods. When a river floods, water is spread across the floodplain. In the river water are grains of sediment and when the flood drys up, the sediment is left on the river bank. After many floods, the pile of sediment gets bigger.
Floodplain
The floodplain is found in the lower course of the the river where the river often floods. No trees grow here because of the risk of flood and being washed away.
