Crime mapping
Most of a person's activities are confined to a few fairly limited areas
Therefore expected that a person's offences will be linked in the geographical area in which they occur
Circle theory
Most offenders commit their crimes in an imagined circle
Marauder= offenders home is within the geographical area in which crimes are committed
Commuter= offender travels to a different area and commits crime within a defined space around which a O can be drawn
Criminal geographic targeting

Details probability of an offenders residence based on data related to time, distance and movement to and from crime scenes
