photosynthesis
the process carried out by autotrophs (self-feeder such as plants) that converts light energy to chemical energy. The energy produced is then stored in sugars and other molecules.
light dependent reaction
is part of photosynthesis that takes place in the day when solar light is available.
light independent reaction
a part of photosynthesis that does not require to light.
autotrophs
produce their own biomolecules from CO2 and other inorganic molecules. They are also called the producers of the biosphere as they are the main source of organic materials for non-autotrophs.
Cellular respiration is usually happens in four stages.
Glycolysis – the breakdown of glucosePyruvate
oxidation – the conversion on pyruvate into CoACitric
acid cycle – CoA combines with a four carbon molecule and forms ATP, NADH and FADH2.
Oxidative phosphorylation – NADH and FADH2, returns to their empty state (NAD and FAD).
heterotrophs
organism that are unable to produce their own food and get organic molecules from consuming organic molecules from other organisms.
