he was fond of the arts and his father did not like this. His friend was killed when he was young because they both ran away from home. He became the king of Prussia from 1740 to 1786. He patronized the arts (enlightenment) in Prussia and against his odds won the seven year war.

Begann mit dem unangekuendigten Ueberfall Preussens auf Sachsen. this was similar to the First World War. Most people were fighting against friederich. France and England fought against each other as well. Die Schlacht von Lützen
one of the main battles of the thirty years war. The battle was between the Protestant Swedish armies led under Gustav adolf and the catholic side albrecht von wallenstein. The battle ended with Gustavo adolf dead on the battle field. This was detrimental to the Protestant side.
Die “schiefe” Schlachtordnung
this was a military tactic founded by Alexander the Great in 4th century bc where one side of the line is stacked more than another side. This created an angled or oblique formation in which they attacked in a stronger concentration of force. It was a very successful formation for friederich and his armies.
