Gregory's Constructivist Theory
we select relevant sensory information (90% of visual information is lost in order to avoid sensory overload )
uses: distance cues, info from other senses, and expectations from past experiences to complete the image

Gibson's Theory of Direct Perception
perception is direct, visual information from environment is sufficient to percieving in high detail
criticism = when we stare at a moving objects for a long period of time and then switch to looking at a still object, the still object appears to be moving
Marr's Computation Theory
derive a representation of the objects from information recieved in the retinal image
image -> primal sketch -> 2.5 D -> 3D
each level takes info from the previous level and converts it into a more complex representation
