There were many important advances in science during the Elizabethan era. Some of the most important people who made advances in science are Nicolas Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, Johannes Kepler, William Harvey and Andreas Vesalius.
* Important inventions created in this era are the clock, telescope, printing press, modern warfare and gunpowder etc.
Nicolaus COPERNICUS was the first to find that the earth turns on it’s own axis and with the other planets, turns around the sun. Few people believed this but he was the first that had reasons to prove it.
Nicolaus Copernicus
GALILEO Galilei made one of the very first telescopes. While using his telescope he also found that Copernicus’s theory was right. Galileo also helped develop the scientific method. Another invention which he helped improve was the clock by creating a pendulum.
Galileo Galilei
Johannes KEPLER was a mathematician that figured out the mathematical laws of the way the planets move. Also because of some of his theories, people later discovered the law of gravity.
Johannes Kepler
* The law of gravity was discovered based on his work
William Harvey and Andreas Vesalius.
Andreas Vesalius was the first man to create a description of the human body based on actual dissection. Because of this, he was the founder of human anatomy. William Harvey, discovered the circulation of the blood by watching animals. This means that he founded human physiology.

There were many inventions that came out during the Elizabethan era and most of the inventors were both scientists and artists. For example, Leonardo Da Vinci was (and still is) a famous scientist who researched the human body so that he could make his works of art more realistic. Also Filippo Brunelleschi studied math to help him be a great architect.

Many more well-known scientists and artists made discoveries that would change the world we live in. One of the greatest inventions made in this era was the printing press which was made by Johannes Gutenberg. It was able to get information out to many people at once. Other inventions made were the clock, microscope, telescope, eyeglasses, gunpowder, flushing toilets, submarine, the compass, wrench, and screwdriver.
The scientific method was also further discovered in this era with the help of Francis Bacon, Rene Descartes, Isaac Newton and Galileo Galilei. The scientific method is a format in which people would conduct an experiment.
