Define extenuating circumstances
Missing child under 12
A child whose disappearance involves circumstances that a reasonable person to convlude child is at risk
Child has a medical condition, physical or mental disability
Out of the " zone of safety". Age, development stage, foul play, involuntary disappearance.
Amber alerts issued by whom?
Through MEP Unit at direction of Commander of Major Crimes.
Child must be 17 or younger
Child in immediate danger
Must be enough info that a public broadcast will assist in recovery of child
Recovery of Child. Officers should NOT?
Question the child. MEP will interview the child.
