What’s the difference between discrimination and prejudice define
Discrimination is the policies/practice/behavior that leads to unfair treatment because of someone’s identity or perceived identity
•prejudice is the hostile/negative attitudes that are based on ignorance/faulty knowledge
Differences
•prejudice is the irrational attitude while discrimination is behaviors directed against
•prejudice is caused by stereotypeing while discrimination is caused by prejudice
•prejudice can be pos/neg, while discrimination is negative
5 stages of discrimination-Allport
1. Antilocution-jokes,hate speech
2.Avoidence-no direct harm but harm is done by isolation
3.discrimination- prevents goals
4. Physical attack-lynching of blacks
5. Extermination- final solution to the Jewish solution
