Active transport requires energy, there is lots of mitochondria in the cell because the mitochondria produces energy.
Factors that affect diffusion
Concentration gradient, temperature and distance particles must travel.
Diffusion in respiration and gas exchange system
Oxygen is inhaled and the gases in the aveoli diffuses. These gases are oxygen and carbon dioxide. It will diffuse from the aveoli to the capillary.
