Yellow ➡ H2S negative

Black or plain Yellow ➡ Indole neg.
Acid end vs.
Non-Acid end
MR-VP broth
⤵Methyl Red (MR) Test:
Stayed Yellow = Non-acid (negative)
Turned Red = Acid (positive)
⤵ Voges-Proskauer (VP) Test:
Turned Red = positive
(Acetoin>Butanediol)
Stayed Yellow = negative
(If it is positive in one test it should be negative in the other test, and vice versa)
